  1. Good Afternoon!

I had a few questions in regards to the classes. I am a beginner. I have only done yoga 3 times watching youtube recently. I found that I am really loving it! Do you offer beginners classes? I am also a plus size woman so the flexibility is really not quite there for me yet but I am working on it! Do you offer anything for plus size people? I noticed that it says you can do “drop in” appointments. Is this really a walk in anytime or do you have set times? My end goal is to enjoy it and maybe lose some weight in the process. Any information you can provide I would appreciate.
    Have a wonderful day!

  2. Crystal,
Thank you for inquiring and congratulations on beginning a yoga practice! I’m not currently running a beginner specific series. However, most of our classes are “Mixed-Level” meaning that it is appropriate for all levels of practice, including beginner’s. We modify postures and utilize yoga props to accommodate each individual student’s needs. Our students come in all shapes and sizes and trust me when I say that everyone is working with his/her personal “limitations” (flexibility, imbalanced areas of the body, chronic pain, etc).

Drop-in refers to our open class policy. Any weekly group class on our schedule is drop-in friendly. No need to register, simply come to class and pay as you go.

Gentle PM Stretch on Wednesdays from 5:30-7pm is a great starter class. It focuses on unwinding from the day through a gentle practice of slow, supported stretches, breathing practices, and meditation.

Feel free to try multiple classes and see which one fits your needs.

  3. Hello. I’m looking into doing yoga again. It’s been a while and I was recently diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and Hypoglycemia. I want yoga to be something I want to meditate on.

I also work 7AM until 4PM most days

    When are your classes?

  4. Hi Morgan,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your health concerns. At Gem Yoga we see each of our students as individuals and modify your experience to fit your needs by taking those concerns into consideration.

We currently have three classes which may fit in with your work schedule.
Tuesdays from 6-7pm is Slow Flow Vinyasa
Wednesdays from 5:30-7pm is Gentle PM Stretch
Saturdays from 10-11:30am is Mixed-level Hatha

If you are just beginning your yoga experience I would recommend the Wednesday Gentle PM Stretch. You will be introduced to the basics of yoga in a therapeutic and relaxed atmosphere. However, all of our classes are beginner friendly, so if Wednesday doesn’t work for you please feel free to try another class.

Whichever class you decide to experience, you will receive a complete practice including: centering, breath practices, physical asanas (postures), and guided meditation.

Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions.

  5. I am interested in your yoga classes however I can not find the schedule. Can you please let me know the times and types? Hopefully, I will be able to attend one soon. Thanks!
